MICHAEL JOHNSON, TAA DIRECTOR OF DESIGN SERVICES,
PRESENTED AWARD

 

Michael JohnsonMichael Johnson, Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) Director of Design Services, was
presented with the President's Award by the Arizona Airport Association (AzAA) at its
Spring conference last month. Mr. Johnson was acknowledged for his time and energy
spent collecting and presenting information for the work of AzAA with the Arizona
Department of Transportation Multi-Modal Planning Division Aeronautics Group pertaining
to grant funding for airport development. This is the second year in a row Mr. Johnson
received this award.

Mr. Johnson has been actively involved in airport development in southern Arizona for
nearly 40 years. He is a past president of the AzAA board of directors, a member of the
Legislative Committee, and played a key r

ole in the unanimous passage of legislation resulting in the return of 100% of the Flight
Property Tax to aviation use.

He joined TAA in 1989 and he currently oversees the design and construction of TAA's various civil airport
development projects for Tucson International Airport and Ryan Airfield.
